FIBA Officially Approved! 4 NBA stars join forces! Another strong team is born
The Bahamas men’s basketball team played a warm-up match with the University of Kansas, and the Bahamas beat their opponents 87-81. With Ayton absent, Pacers player Hilde scored 19 points and Suns player Eric Gordon scored 12 points. That’s right, Gordon has played for the Bahamas men’s basketball team!
In addition to Gordon, there are three active NBA players joining the Bahamas to play in the Olympic Basketball Qualifying Tournament on August 14. They are Ayton, Hield and Kay-Jones. Ayton was originally a Bahamian player. In the 2016 Central American Championships, the 18-year-old Ayton played 4 games for the Bahamas, averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds per game.
